As far as I'm aware youtube videos aren't supported by the native video players. I believe you have to use an iframe player in a native webview.
-
Hi, Yes, it can load remote mp4 files.
That functionality is part of the native video players so this extension includes this functionality.

@Andres Munoz : You can play video on a server as well, just be careful to have video format that can be played on every device you need. For instance, i recorded a video from my iphone, sent it to the server and then try to play on an Android device but wasn't working...it was working on other iOS devices though.

Hi guys,
I am about to buy your mediaplayer ane, but before that I would like to ask two questions from you.
When I start the mediaplayer can the stage3D layer be visible? The reason I ask because when I use stageVideo the stage3D layer needs to be hidden and that is not suitable for me.
The other question I would like to ask is can I take a snapshot of the video somehow?
Thanks for your answers in advance.
Kind regards,
Zsolt -
Yes,
The android version is complete and available. Thanks for pointing out the product page, I'll make sure that gets updated as well.

Does your comment mean that the Android version is working? On the Media Player page (http://distriqt.com/product/air-native-extensions/media-player), all it says is iOS support.

any news on Android compatibility?
I would be very keen to buy this ANE, however I need to ship an Android app in the next 6 weeks.
will Android compatibility be ready before then? -

I have the same question as jassa -- Can YouTube videos be used? The darkredz studio UIWebView ANE is used to play YouTube in an iFrame -- http://darkredz.com/?s=youtube. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello,
Will this video player be able to play rtmp streaming content.
Thanks

Hi,
When you purchase a new extension you'll receive a new key that will work with all of the extensions you have access to. Your old keys will continue to work but only with the extensions you had access to when that key was issued.

I originally purchased the native extension bundle which has a key for all extensions. Will a new key be issued that will work for the new video player and all previously purchased extensions?

Hi Michael,
Would you be able to tell us when this ANE might be available? I'm just about to start a project which uses video and an wondering if I should plan this with an ANE in mind?
Cheers,
Mark
